Re-construction of Malewanayaya Irrigation tank was another worthy project we undertook in Wellawaya a remote village with nearly 100 farmer families with no irrigation water for their crops. We rebuild the entire tank bund, dredged the existed tank which was more than 100 years old spending nearly Rs. 1.6 million funded our sister club Suita West Rotary Club and the Ministry of Environment.
