Toilet Project AT Kettarama, Maligawatte (Completed Oct 31, 2007)

Project
Construction of six toilets in the area called Kettarama in the Maligawatte Division. 
Location
The Kettarama area is in the Maligawatte Division which is situated within the City of Colombo
Objective
This is a slum area which is inhabited by 600 families and has only one Toilet block.
Beneficiaries
The people belonging to about 600 families will benefit from this project directly
Participation of Rotarians
Rotarians Rtn. Mohamed Mahir and Rtn. Mohamed Sabry will be directly involved in this project. They will monitor the work at site and ensure smooth progress of the project. They will report the progress of the work to the board. The site will be also visited twice weekly by the President Nisthar Thaha and Secretary Raj Jeganathan.
Funding
Estimated cost Rs 184,350. There was a balance funds from the MG Duwe Modera Economic livelihood restoration project.The Rotary International Club of Brunswick Maine, Rotary District 7780 USA with the approval from Rotary Foundation permitted Rotary Club of Colombo Central to use the excess funds for this valuable community service.
