BT/Kaluthavalai Ramakrishna Vidyalayam, was damaged by the devastating tsunami of December 2004. This school was rebuilt with modern facilities by Rotary International District 3220, Sri Lanka, under its schools re-awakening project.

The foundation stone for the new school was laid by Swami Ajaratmanandaji on the 30^th January 2006 and was ceremonially opened on the 25^th April 2008 by the Rotary District Governor, Thariq Thulba.

As the Lead Club, the reconstruction of this school was managed by Rotary Club of Colombo Central.
