Safe Drinking water to school Children: Project Leader : Rtn PHF Leisha Chandrasena
Proposed water project for the A/ Niwaththakachethiya Mahavidyalaya, Anuradhapura
This would definitely help more than 3500 students to have safe drinking water. Following is the present situation of the school water supply system.
Anuradhapura people; especially the people from rural areas are severely affected by the Chronic Renal Failure –CRF. Somehow it is believed to be connected with water but still the real reason is a mystery. So preventing people from drinking unsafe tube- well water is essential and providing them the water from the main supply at least will minimize the impact over the children.
This would definitely help more than 3500 students to have safe drinking water. Following is the present situation of the school water supply system.

More than 500 students suffer from the inadequate supply of water. They always have to come to the senior school in order to access drinking water. During the interval time hundreds of students struggle for water and the primary students have to compete with the older and stronger students for drinking water. This also causes damage to the water supply system.
