Rotary Club of Garden City Singapore District 3310 has been chartered in June 2, 1987. It is a bilingual club providing Mandarin Speaking Singaporeans to participate in Rotary Service program. The meeting was conducted in Mandarin. I was given the time to introduce the activities of Colombo Central. They were impressed by the work of our club and celebrating the world asthma day in Sri Lanka with Madras North west and Rotary Club of Wattala. I gave a CD containing the interview made at the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation for World Asthma Day. Later Rtn. James Chang Chien Chia invited us to a lunch at Padang Palace Restaurant at Singapore Recreation Club. Colombo Central sends all the best wishes to Garden City and hope to do some joint projects in Sri Lanka.

Rotary Club of Tokyo Ikebukuro West of District 2580 was chartered in April 17, 1972. The president for year 2006/2007 was Rtn Shoshin Mototani. The Guest speaker for the day was PDG Seiichi Komiya (Governor Tokyo & Okinawa District 2580 year 2005/2006) The PDG's Presentation was on membership development. In the year 2000 Tokyo & Okinawa District 2580 had about 4171 members but gradually it reduced to 3500 level in 2005. It is the duty of the all Rotarians to bring in quality members into the club. The new members should be thought the basic principles of Rotary, Make them to understand Rotary, Make the club activities and the environment of the club be a happy and presentable one.
The best way to recruit member is by meeting the prospective member personally and taking to them with an eye contact. PDG Seiichi Komiya (Governor Tokyo & Okinawa District 2580) told that First Inner Wheel Club in Japan was charted in Hokkaido this year. The details of this Inner Wheel club will be sent to Colombo Central soon and the Inner Wheel Club of Colombo Central will send its greetings to Hokkaido. Colombo Central hope to continue the new friendship and do some projects in Sri Lanka.
